The L21 Cruiser might not be the sexiest bike ever make (ok not even close) but this bike is super comfortable and has a pretty solid set of components and features. I noticed today at San Francisco Bicycle Coalition that the super cool Market Street bike lane in SF keeps growing.
In a February survey, 90% of bicyclists said the one-block separated bike lane on Market St., which was piloted initially, made them feel safer, and 80% of respondents said they would bike on Market Street more often if the separated bike lane was expanded for longer.
The SF Bicycle Coalition has worked closely with the SFMTA to install this innovation and is leading the charge for a continuous and fully separated bikeway along Market Street in both directions from Octavia to the Embarcadero, when the street is repaved in 2013.
I wish the best of luck to our local South Bay Bicycle Coalition in getting some more cyclist friendly bike lanes such as the Market Street one – right here in the South Bay Los Angeles area.
